Privacy policy
Effective 19 October 2026. This policy covers the Depth Player app for Meta Quest, published by Halpindev.
The short version
Depth Player has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We do not collect, receive or sell any personal data. Everything the app does with your videos happens on your headset.
What stays on your headset
- Video processing. 3D conversion, motion smoothing and upscaling run locally. Video frames are never uploaded anywhere.
- Your settings and history. Player settings, watch positions (video title and address) and bookmarks are stored in the app's private storage.
- Network places. Server addresses you add and the user name and password you enter for a shared folder are stored in the app's private storage, so the app can reconnect. They are only sent to that server.
- Web data. The built-in browser keeps cookies and site data like any browser, in the app's private storage.
Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in the headset settings, deletes all of this.
Network connections
The app only connects to the places you open: files on your local network, stream links, and websites you visit in the built-in browser. Those services (for example YouTube or a streaming site) receive what any player or browser sends them, such as your IP address, and their own privacy policies apply. Depth Player does not send data to us or to any other third party.
Permissions
- Videos on the device: to list and play your videos.
- Internet: to play network files, streams and web pages.
Children
Depth Player is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
